Bauder DensDeck® Prime
Why?
Solar photovoltaic installations are becoming ever more prominent on flat roofs in both new build and commercial retrofit installations. In the absence of standards or testing methodologies for installing solar on flat roofs, we are introducing a requirement for a non-combustible layer to be installed between roof deck and solar PV when installed on a combustible deck. This could take the form of a ballast layer, or non-combustible ‘cover board’ between waterproofing membrane and insulation layer.
What is it?
Bauder DensDeck Prime is a 6.4mm thick gypsum based non-combustible protection layer with a fibreglass mat face. The product is intended for commercial roofing applications to reduce the impact of rooftop fires and improves compressive performance of the roof system, especially when trafficked. Bauder DensDeck Prime can be utilised as a ‘cover board’ beneath the waterproofing and insulation layers, or as a ‘roof board’ directly onto the roof deck.
Bauder DensDeck Prime can be installed in both mechanically fixed and bonded methods.
What system can it be installed with?
Bauder DensDeck Prime can be installed within the following systems:
- Reinforced bitumen membrane system.
- Bauder Thermofol (adhered and mechanically fixed).
- Bauder Cold Liquids with a carrier membrane.
When will it be available?
February 1st 2025
