Pre-fabricated Single Ply Corners

Simplifying the detail of weathering corners on a single ply project.

In accordance with our NBS Specification Clause 786, this is a reminder outlining the importance of using Bauder IE/AE Internal and External Pre-fabricated Corners during the installation of a Bauder single ply waterproofing system.

Pre-fabricated corners are used to dress internal and external 90° corners.

Bauder Internal and External Pre-fabricated Corners (IE/AE Corners) must be used for the formation of internal or external 90° corner details.

Prefabricated corners can also be used on corners greater than or less than 90° where the corner is warmed and manipulated to suit the required angle.

Prefabricated Corners Installation Process

  • Position the prefabricated corner.
  • Weld from the centre outwards until the entire patch is welded.
  • Ensure patches are wrinkle and crease free.

Installation Tip

Internal and external corner patches can be reversed to allow them to be used at other junction points, helping to ensure a watertight seal is achieved easily.

In situations where it is not possible to use prefabricated corners, a gusset must be dressed into an internal corner and a piece of unreinforced detailing membrane can be dressed to an external corner using a ‘thumb print’ detail.

Whilst it is acknowledged that there are alternative methods of completing the waterproofing of internal and external corners, it is a requirement of our Product & Workmanship and Product, Workmanship & Design guarantees that these pre-fabricated corners are used on all corner detailing, where possible, within Bauder single ply system installations.
