BauderSOLAR F XL Mounting System

Bauder have updated our BauderSOLAR F mounting system to BauderSOLAR F XL.

This update allows our unique lightweight BauderSOLAR mounting system to accommodate the larger format solar modules that now dominate the commercial solar market.

Why?

To improve efficiency and reduce costs, silicon solar cells have increased in size, resulting in larger solar modules becoming the industry standard.

To accommodate these larger format modules, Bauder has launched the BauderSOLAR F XL mounting system for use with Bauder bitumen and single-ply roof membranes.

When Does This Come Into Effect?

All new orders and designs from 1st April 2023.

Does This Affect the Design/Layout?

Yes. The BauderSOLAR F XL has a larger footprint than the original BauderSOLAR F mounting system.

Existing designs will therefore need to be reviewed and updated where necessary. Please contact the Bauder Technical Office if you would like an updated design produced for any current projects.

What About Projects Already Ordered?

Where a scheme has already been ordered, the original BauderSOLAR F mounting system will be supplied unless otherwise instructed.

Are There Any Changes to the Guarantee?

No. There are no changes to the existing guarantee.

What About Pricing?

BauderSOLAR F XL has been price matched to the existing BauderSOLAR F system.

As larger format solar modules are generally more efficient and cost effective, any design changes should not lead to increased project costs.

Will the Original BauderSOLAR F System Still Be Available?

Yes. Bauder will continue to hold a limited stock of the original BauderSOLAR F mounts to support schemes using older format modules.

How Can I Identify Which Mount I Have on Site?

Whilst the BauderSOLAR F XL is physically larger, both mounting systems have a similar appearance.

The easiest way to distinguish between them on site is that the BauderSOLAR F XL features a Bauder embossed logo on the rear of the mount.

Are There Any Other Changes to the Mounting System?

Yes. The opportunity has been taken to improve functionality and reduce manufacturing costs:

  • The mount structure has been amended so that base plates can be pushed underneath the mount at both the front and rear of the array, helping to reduce trip hazards.
  • The number of eyelets for cable ties has been reduced.

Where Can I Get Further Information?

Technical Data Sheets, installation guidelines and case studies are available upon request from our Technical Office.
