Changes to Bauder Inverted Upstand Insulation
Discontinuation of Bauder JFRI Upstand Board.
We have been informed by our supplier that they have taken the decision to discontinue the manufacture of our Bauder JFRI Upstand Board.
As a result, we will no longer be able to offer this product as part of our portfolio and anticipate that remaining stock will last only until the end of September 2021.
Outline of Changes to Bauder Inverted Upstand Insulation Options
Bauder currently offers the following standard options for inverted roof upstands:
- Bauder JFRI Upstand Board (Polystyrene)
- BauderROCK NC Upstand Board (Dense Mineral Wool Slab)
- Bauder XPS Upstand Board (Polystyrene)
- BauderGLAS Upstand Board (Cellular Glass)
- Bauder Warm Roof Upstand (Combustible and Non-Combustible Options)
Due to the withdrawal of Bauder JFRI Upstand Board, we are required to change our polystyrene inverted upstand insulation offering.
Changes to Bauder Upstand Insulation Specification and Sales
As outlined above, our supplier has discontinued the manufacture of Bauder JFRI Upstand Board.
Remaining stock is limited and, once exhausted, no further material will be available.
As a consequence of the withdrawal of this product, all future orders requiring a polystyrene-based upstand board will be fulfilled using our Bauder XPS Upstand Board.

All Bauder specifications currently within our system that incorporate Bauder JFRI Upstand Board will be updated to specify Bauder XPS Upstand Board.
Technically there is very little difference between the two products. However, there is a difference in appearance:
- Bauder JFRI Upstand Board features a GRP facing.
- Bauder XPS Upstand Board features a CP board facing.
If this change causes any issues, please contact either Andrew Harper or your local Bauder Area Technical Manager for further guidance.
There will be no cost penalty associated with this change on projects that have already been priced.
Non-Combustible Upstand Option
Where a non-combustible upstand board is required, we recommend considering the BauderROCK NC Upstand Board.
