New Bitumen Refurbishment Outlets
To assist in refurbishment projects.
Bauder are pleased to announce, as part of our continued commitment to providing a comprehensive range of waterproofing accessories, the launch of a new range of bitumen vertical outlets with a mechanical seal and stainless steel leaf guard for use with our RBM systems in refurbishment applications.
These new outlets are being introduced in addition to our existing outlet range.
The new outlets feature a 400mm spigot length. The various spigot diameters are designed to fit most commonly sized existing outlets, targeting 75mm, 100mm and 150mm diameter openings.
The integrated mechanical seal provides a secure connection between the new outlet and the existing pipework, helping prevent water backing up into the roofing system should the drainage pipework become blocked.

Supplied as standard with a stainless steel leaf guard, mechanical seal and bituminous flange.

Supplied as standard with a stainless steel leaf guard, mechanical seal and bituminous flange.

- Suitable for existing pipe diameters between 95mm and 110mm.
Bauder Bitumen Vertical Refurb Outlet DN145
Supplied as standard with a stainless steel leaf guard, mechanical seal and bituminous flange.

- Flow rate: 5.48 l/s based on a 35mm head of water.
- Suitable for existing pipe diameters between 146mm and 168mm.
The membrane flanges are fully compatible with the respective waterproofing membranes used within the Bauder Bitumen System and therefore form part of the Bauder warranty.
Mechanical Seal Installation
A dedicated tool is required to tighten the mechanical seal and is available separately from Bauder Ltd.
Insert the narrower section of the mechanical seal into the outlet stem and tighten the stainless steel screws using the mechanical seal tightening tool until the upper section of the seal expands.
The outlet assembly should then be inserted into the existing drainpipe. The stainless steel screws should be further tightened by hand until the lower section expands against the drainpipe, creating a robust watertight seal between the outlet and the existing pipework.
Bauder recommends using a suitable silicone lubricant between the seal and the pipe to help prevent damage during installation.

A 10mm spanner or socket is required to tighten and loosen the leaf guard.
Outlet Pricing
The three new refurbishment outlets and the Mechanical Seal Tightening Tool will be included within the September RBM Price List update.
All items are available to purchase immediately. Please contact your local Area Technical Manager or the Bauder Sales Department for current pricing.
Drainage Calculations
The Bauder Technical Department can carry out drainage calculations to determine how many Bauder outlets are required for a particular roof area.
Technical Data Sheets & Detail Drawings
New Technical Data Sheets and detail drawings for these products are supplied with this Contractor Update.
Delivery
The vertical outlets, complete with leaf guards and mechanical seals, will be supplied in cardboard boxes.
The Mechanical Seal Tightening Tool will be supplied separately in its own cardboard box.
What About the Existing Refurbishment Outlets?
The existing refurbishment outlets will be phased out, together with the associated PIR housing and leaf guard.
Once current stocks of the existing outlets and housings have been exhausted, these products will no longer be available.
Existing specifications and quotations should be reviewed before placing orders to ensure the correct products and pricing are applied.
