PVC Seam Activator
As a result of our continued system development, we have added a new PVC Seam Activator to our range of accessories to assist during the installation of aged or heavily soiled Thermofol PVC membranes.
Bauder PVC Seam Activator should be used to prepare the welding zones of Thermofol PVC membranes that are not sufficiently clean before hot air welding.
It is not suitable as a general-purpose cleaner for removing dirt or bitumen residue from Thermofol membranes. For those applications, Bauder PVC Cleaner remains the recommended product.
Application Guidance
- Apply Bauder PVC Seam Activator to the welding zone using a soft, clean tissue.
- Clean the membrane surface and wipe dry using lint-free tissues.
- If the membrane is particularly dirty, repeat cleaning using fresh PVC Seam Activator and a new lint-free tissue until the original membrane colour has been restored.
- Allow the PVC Seam Activator to evaporate completely before welding. A minimum ventilation period of approximately 5 minutes should be allowed.
- Do not use PVC Seam Activator to clean the entire membrane surface. The product is intended solely for seam preparation.

Bauder PVC Seam Activator is available from the Bauder Ipswich warehouse and is supplied in 2.5 litre containers.
Coverage Rate
Approximately 60 linear metres of heavily soiled membrane welding zone per container.

Typically 2–3 working days in accordance with the latest Bauder delivery guide.
