Hot Melt Blue Roof Outlet and Hot Melt Compact Outlet Reinforcement Modification Notification

As a result of our continued system development, we have taken a small step to improve the installation capabilities of these outlets.

Outlets Concerned

• GB60267080 – Hot Melt Compact Outlet 70mm (DN70) with Clamping Ring (Blue Roof)
• GB60268100 – Hot Melt Compact Outlet 100mm (DN100) with Clamping Ring

Part codes for both products remain unchanged.

Existing Reinforcement Components

Previously, each outlet box contained two circular EPDM reinforcement rings, one large and one small.

The smaller reinforcement ring will remain unchanged and will continue to be supplied with the outlet.

This smaller ring is inserted before the outlet is seated into the deck, typically a concrete deck, where required. Its purpose is to protect the outlet from any deck imperfections that may be present.

Reinforcement Ring Modification

As part of Bauder's ongoing product evaluation programme, it was felt that the larger circular reinforcement ring required redesigning.

The original large circular reinforcement ring measured 320mm in diameter. It was found that the shape and size of the ring made it difficult to achieve effective bonding of the field area Polyester Reinforcement.

To improve installation, the larger circular reinforcement ring has been replaced with a square version.

The new square reinforcement measures 495mm × 495mm and provides a significantly larger bonding area, making it easier for installers to achieve effective bonding of the field area Polyester Reinforcement.

Technical Updates

• The Product Data Sheet has been updated to confirm where and when the new reinforcement should be used.
• Specification clauses have been amended to reflect this change.

When Does the Change Take Place?

All deliveries now include the new square EPDM reinforcement within the outlet packaging.

Pricing

Both products have received a revised list price to reflect the product improvement, effective from 18th December 2019.

These amendments were incorporated into the Hot Melt Price List that superseded the October 2019 edition.
