As part of Bauder’s review of our product range to make them more sustainable, we have been able to significantly reduce the plastic content of our SDF mat product and therefore reduce its carbon footprint. The new product will be called SDF L.

Benefits of the new SDF L drainage mat

• Weight is reduced from 600 g/m² to 380 g/m² (from 30 kg to 19 kg per roll)
• Plastic content is reduced by 37%
• Carbon footprint is reduced by a third
• Improved horizontal flow rate (from 0.75 l/s to 0.78 l/s)
• SDF L will be supplied in the same 50m x 1m rolls
• SDF L looks very similar to the existing SDF mat

What happens now?

All new specifications requiring SDF mat will now have SDF L specified. As current stocks of SDF mat are exhausted, new orders will be fulfilled using SDF L.

Note: There are no adverse changes in the performance of the green roof system by using the SDF L.
