Thermofol & the Importance of BROOF(t4)
The significant changes to Fire Safety – Approved Document B introduced in August 2019 have been well documented, but it is worth reminding ourselves how these changes affect our day-to-day operations.
To comply with the Building Regulations relating to fire performance, it is necessary to demonstrate that the system as installed has a valid fire test certificate.
Most client requirements are for systems achieving a BROOF(t4) classification, as this removes the need for a minimum separation distance between adjacent buildings.
Bauder operates a continuous fire testing programme and all of the most commonly specified Bauder system build-ups have recently been tested, including both thick and thin insulation configurations.
