Bauder GRP Water Check Trim | Bitumen Waterproofing Systems
Additional sizes available which can be used with Bitumen Waterproofing Systems.
Bauder are pleased to announce we are launching a range of differing sizes for our Bauder GRP Water Check Trim.
Bauder GRP Water Check Trim will be available in a range of sizes from November 30th 2024.
Why are we adding more sizes?
We felt this would be a good addition to our GRP Trim range. They are to be used on parapets and perimeter kerbs with no inward fall or are over 200mm in width. They must not be used on their own as a check kerb, as the trim only has a small upstand of 18mm. A check kerb must be a minimum of 50mm.
What sizes will the trim be available in?
- Type A: Face depth 65mm | Cover depth 46mm
- Type B: Face depth 100mm | Cover depth 80mm
- Type C: Face depth 150mm | Cover depth 130mm
- Type D: Face depth 200mm | Cover depth 175mm
Internal and external corners will also be available for all sizes.
What lengths will the trim be available in?
The trim will be available in 3 metre lengths.
What colour will the trim be available in?
The trim will be available in Black. The black has no specific RAL colour, but the closest is RAL 9004.
Which waterproofing systems can the Water Check Trim be used with?
All bitumen systems.
What about the current GRP Water Check Trim?
With the introduction of the new range of Water Check Trims, the current Water Check Trim will be phased out.
Can you mix and match the old trim and new trim?
No. You can use them on the same project but not on the same roof area as the trim profile is different. Where the old trim has been specified or priced, we will replace it with the Type A trim as the cover depth is almost the same. There is a 4mm difference.

The specification clauses and detail drawings have been updated and specifications using the new trim will start to appear after launch.
Fixing and Face Fixing Trims
Fixing: 30mm from ends and at 300mm (maximum) centres, stagger fixed. Can be used to retain the capping sheet where the capping sheet is taken to the full extent of the detail.
150mm (Type C) and 200mm (Type D) deep trims require 3 additional face fixings per length. Fixings should be positioned halfway down from the top edge, one fixing 100mm from each end and one centrally located, capped with colour-matched plastic weathering caps. A fixed timber packer is required behind the trim face.
For roofs above 10 metres in height, the 100mm deep trim (Type B) will also require face fixing as detailed above. A fixed timber packer is required behind the trim face.

Installation Instructions
- Prime the trim with the specified Bauder primer and cut flashings to size.
- Offer the membrane into position, then fold back approximately 50–60mm and gently heat to soften.
- Slide the membrane up and under the lip of the trim.
- Use a penny roller along the flashing to ensure adhesion.
- Lift the flashing, apply gentle heat and pressure to achieve a full bond, ensuring a 5–10mm bead of bitumen is extruded from end laps.
- Trim excess material to the required length.
- Lift the flashing with the appropriate tool and gently heat.
- Using a hand roller, remove trapped air and achieve a neat 5–10mm bitumen bead.

Bauder GRP Water Check Trim | LiquiTEC & LiquiTOP Systems
Additional sizes available which can be used with LiquiTEC and LiquiTOP Waterproofing Systems.
Content structure and information remains the same as the Bitumen version with the following key differences:
- Compatible waterproofing systems: All LiquiTEC and LiquiTOP cold applied liquid systems.
- Pricing: Added to the next versions of the cold liquids price lists.
- Carrier membrane reference: Used to retain the carrier membrane rather than a capping sheet.
Installation Instructions
- Fix as detailed above. Clean off dust and debris. Mask the top of the recess and cut reinforcement to the required size.
- Apply the embedment coat ensuring it is dressed into the trim recess and fixing leg edge.
- Place the reinforcement edge into the trim recess and embed into the wet resin.
- Ensure reinforcement is fully saturated with no trapped air, particularly around fixings and fixing-leg edges.
- Apply the top coat in accordance with the system build-up and remove masking tape whilst resin remains wet.

Bauder are pleased to announce we are launching a larger size for our Bauder GRP Trim Angle.
Bauder GRP Trim Angle will be available in two sizes from November 30th 2024.
What sizes will the trim be available in?
- GRP Trim Angle 100/60
- GRP Trim Angle 150/75
Prefabricated 90° internal and external corners will also be available for both sizes.
Corners will be available to suit trim orientation, for example 150/75 or 75/150.
